Social Justice

Social Justice and Advocacy

Social justice has been one of Koya’s key areas of focus since its founding in 2004. We have had the privilege of partnering with a wide range of organizations focused on advancing human rights and equality in the U.S. and globally.

We approach this work with a strong diversity and equity lens, understanding that social justice organizations are most effective when they reflect the communities that they serve. From our broad experience, we know that our role as a recruiting partner to these organizations comes with the responsibility to ensure that we are designing and implementing transparent, inclusive processes and working to place leaders who reflect traditionally underrepresented groups.

We are passionate about maintaining and growing a deep network of leaders who are fighting for racial and gender justice, reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, voting rights, immigrant rights, gun control, and other issues. Our work in these areas spans from placing leaders in the world of progressive philanthropy to placing activists on the frontline and administrative leaders who ensure these organizations are operating for maximum impact.

Our deep understanding of the unique characteristics of social justice organizations as well as our team’s personal commitment and lived experience allows us to bring a collaborative and consultative approach that is rooted in equity principles and based on collaboration, listening, and partnership.
