Manager, Research & Social Justice Strategy

Marissa serves as a Research Manager at Koya, applying research strategies to support search teams, particularly those partnerships focused on direct service and social justice organizations. Through research and outreach, Marissa is focused on engaging with and placing mid- to Executive-level talent in meaningful, nonprofit organizations nationally. She also supports proposal generation and external-facing communications projects.

Marissa joined Koya following the acquisition of Commongood Careers, where she served as Recruitment Manager supporting national leadership recruitments for mission-driven organizations.

Prior to joining Koya, Marissa taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to international students both in the US and abroad. She went on to serve as the Project Manager of Mass Story Lab, a traveling storytelling project dedicated to ending mass incarceration. Integral to all of her work is a commitment to social justice and community, relationship building, content creation and intentional project management.

A widely published poet and essayist, Marissa brings a particular interest in storytelling and leveraging the arts for social change and advocacy.
