Who We Are:

FoodCorps believes every school should be a healthy school and every child – regardless of race, place or class – deserves to be well nourished and ready to learn. In underserved communities across the country, FoodCorps’ AmeriCorps leaders teach students about healthy food through hands-on lessons, partner with food service workers to create nutritious and delicious school meals, and collaborate with communities to ensure a long-term culture of health. Building on this foundation of direct impact, FoodCorps pursues systemic strategies that will benefit all of our nation’s 100,000 schools.

FoodCorps has scaled rapidly since its inception in 2010. The organization has expanded its direct service programming across 18 states, built a passionate and diverse team of 50 staff and 225 AmeriCorps members, and grown to a $15+ million annual budget, with significant growth ahead.

What We’re Looking For:

FoodCorps is seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial and highly-skilled Vice President of Marketing and Communications (VP) to spearhead significant increases in brand awareness and influence among key audiences. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the VP will lead a newly created department, overseeing all communications and marketing functions. The VP and their team will steward the FoodCorps brand, strengthen FoodCorps’ value proposition for donors and prospective corps members, and position FoodCorps as a premier thought leader on school nutrition and child health in media and policy conversations. The VP also will serve on the Executive Team, collaborating with five other VPs, the CEO and Board to set organization-wide strategy and develop initiatives that drive greater program impact, strengthen internal culture, and leverage FoodCorps’ influence on the national stage.
