Safe Place for Youth is seeking a visionary and empathetic Executive Director who will lead the overall strategic direction, organizational development, and fundraising efforts to help SPY maximize its impact, particularly during this historical moment of heightened precariousness and increased need.
What started out as a grassroots effort built on volunteerism has transformed into a well-established nonprofit with expanding programming. At the same time SPY has maintained its connection to the authentic labor of love that provided it’s initial spark and inspiration. The Executive Director will inherit an organization with a strong foundation developed by Alison Hurst as the Founding Executive Director and further expand SPY’s reach to address the crisis of youth homelessness.
The next Executive Director will be able to harness the existing momentum to enhance the innovative programs and services for which SPY has become known. The Executive Director will help grow and expand SPY’s footprint and will lead the organization in accordance with the strategic plan (2021 – 2024) that proudly “envisions a world where all young people lead safe, stable, self-directed lives.” Additionally, the Executive Director must be able to build on the excitement of Safe Place for Youth’s growth and apply an entrepreneurial zeal and mindset. This will include leveraging the power of metrics and data to strengthen the organization’s visibility and brand as a leader in homeless youth services in Venice, West Los Angeles, and beyond.
