The next President & CEO of CSW will be an inspiring, action-oriented and collaborative leader. As an innovative leader in the national workforce development landscape, CSW is entering an exciting new chapter in its history. The President & CEO will provide bold leadership and creative direction to build on the organization’s success, identify new opportunities for increasing revenue and advance a vision for continued impact.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Corporation for a Skilled Workforce’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission. As a charismatic, strategic thinker who is performance and entrepreneurially business-minded, s/he will already possess or will develop strong knowledge of the workforce development field. The President & CEO will work proactively with an engaged Board of Directors to increase revenue and strategically lead the organization.
Internally, the President & CEO will ensure that the organization’s highly skilled, distributed team is working effectively to support CSW and advance its mission. Inspired by a genuine passion for increasing opportunity for the vulnerable in our society, s/he will work tirelessly to promote CSW’s efforts throughout the nation to help raise financial support, expand programming, engage with a wider range of organizations, and increase CSW’s impact.

Strategic Leadership and Management
The President & CEO will be a strategic leader who, with the Board, will set and articulate a vision for the organization’s next chapter. S/he will work with stakeholders to put together a strategic approach to future growth and increased impact and build and execute on a sound business plan to achieve those goals. S/he will lead and inspire an empowered and talented team comprised of content experts that will work with him/her to implement the course of action for achieving the vision. S/he will have a demonstrated ability to run a financially sound organization and will be an approachable leader who understands the importance of organizational development and a strong culture.
A Passion for the Mission/Culture Fit
The President & CEO must be passionate about the work of CSW. Compassionate and approachable, s/he must embody the organization’s mission of increasing opportunity for society’s most vulnerable people and communities. Driven by a desire to achieve this mission, the President & CEO will be highly action-oriented with a keen ability to study issues and approaches and turn them into concrete, measurable steps forward.
The President & CEO will have significant knowledge of the workforce or economic development field or a demonstrated ability to quickly gain content expertise in the space. With exposure to policy-making work and an understanding of the national landscape, s/he is or will be able to develop into a thought leader contributing to the future success of the field.

The President & CEO will have a track record of utilizing innovation and creativity as a means of advancing an organization or focus area. S/he will embrace the changing landscape within which CSW operates and be skilled at remaining flexible and opportunistic with an eye toward cultivating new and inventive approaches to the work.
An ‘Ambassador’ for Corporation for a Skilled Workforce
The President & CEO will be a high-energy, charismatic leader who will serve as an ‘Ambassador’ for CSW. S/he will have an executive and appealing, mission-driven presence and will be notable for an ability to articulate and convey CSW’s mission and priorities to a range of constituents including the CSW team, Board of Directors and partner organizations. S/he will actively and strategically establish relationships and build coalitions with other partners to further the strategic vision of the organization.
A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
