Orbis International is an international non-profit that brings people together to fight avoidable blindness. With our network of partners, we mentor, train, and inspire local teams to fight blindness in their communities through hands-on training, public health education, advocacy, and local partnerships. Headquartered in New York, the organization was founded by Albert Lee Ueltschi, David Paton, Betsy Trippe DeVecci, and Thomas Knight.
Our mission is to use our amazing network of partners, supporters, staff and sector leading volunteers to empower local communities with the skills and resources necessary to fight blindness on their own. We work alongside eye teams in communities to provide training and guidance to leave a long-term eye care legacy that will restore vision for generations to come.
In this new position with Orbis, you will innovate and strengthen Orbis’s global HR, people, and culture function to support the organization’s growth. You will lead and direct the Human Resources programs, policies, and practices in alignment with Orbis’s values and global strategy. This includes overall strategic Human Resources planning; talent acquisition, onboarding and retention; leadership readiness and succession planning; learning and development; employee engagement, communications, and relations; compensation and benefits, employee recognition, new people initiatives, change management and integration; risk management and compliance; Human Resources administration, database management and metrics, as well as policy and budget management. This role includes a 15% international travel commitment.
