Under the leadership of Director/CEO, Linda Harrison, the Newark Museum is poised for a chapter of continued transformation, exciting growth and development.
Reporting to the CEO and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Deputy Director of Human Resources (“Deputy Director of HR”) manages and guides the overall human resources function for the Museum in the following major areas: Long-range strategic planning as it relates to talent development, HR Compliance and policy development, benefits and pension programs, labor relations and negotiation, employee relations, performance management, organization-wide training programs, compensation, recruiting, employee safety, welfare, and wellness.
The Deputy Director of HR is also responsible for overseeing the Museum’s full spectrum of human resources needs, including recruitment and retainment strategies, diversity, equity, access and inclusion initiatives, and more. This position is an executive level position that also requires a proactive, hands-on, ‘roll-up-your-sleeves’ approach and interfaces with all levels of staff, including those represented by a bargaining unit. Additionally, they oversee payroll processing and the relationship with ADP, or any one vendor chosen.
