The Opportunity

As it nears its 100th year as a flagbearer for quality in early childhood education, NAEYC  is seeking an inspiring and transformational leader who can guide the organization to its next stage of growth as its new Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”). This is a unique opportunity to be at the helm of an organization regarded as a national leader in early childhood education, as NAEYC evolves in new and exciting ways to respond to the current changes in the field.

The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall successful operation and performance of NAEYC. This includes oversight of all programs, business lines, and fund development efforts, as well as the fiscal health and structural soundness of the organization. Reporting to and working closely with the Board of Governors, the CEO oversees an annual budget of approximately $20 million and 90 mission-driven and talented staff. The CEO also serves as the primary spokesperson for NAEYC with policy makers, the media, funders, partners, and educators.
