3S Artspace seeks a creative marketing/communications professional to help increase the visibility and profile of 3S while supporting long-range attendance, membership, and revenue goals.Are you passionate about music, art, or (better yet) all things arts-related?  Do you believe that arts help build community?  Does the opportunity to help grow a young non-profit organization inspire you?   If you can imagine a comprehensive strategic marketing/communications plan that not only successfully markets concurrent events, but helps to build relationships and broaden our philanthropic base, this could be the job for you.

The Marketing Manager is a hands-on member of 3S’s small team and is supported and supervised by the Executive Director.  We look forward to welcoming another driven, flexible, and creative person to our team.


Responsibilities:

Marketing

  1. Promote all 3S events and programs, with an eye on increased ticket sales, through careful coordination of:
    • Website and web presence
    • Social Media
    • E-communications
    • Print collateral
    • Press releases and story pitches
    • Media partnerships
    • Cross-promotional opportunities
  2. Develop/implement social media campaigns for events, branding, and awareness
  3. Coordinate event photography
  4. Manage, prioritize, write and/or develop content for targeted selection of publications to broaden our market  (Seacoast, Portland, Boston)
  5. Manage all Gallery @ 3S collateral needs
  6. Manage all Corporate Sponsor visibility activities
  7. Create and implement (with support from Box Office Manager) a new Membership Campaign
  8. Attend select events, programs, and outreach events, including some evening and weekends

Communications

  • Support Executive Director by acting as spokesperson/ambassador for 3S at appropriate events, and help prepare other staff as appropriate
  • Model and encourage clear communication with staff to ensure a well-informed, timely, and consistent message for our audience and donors

Public Relations

  • Work with Executive Director to identify media opportunities for raising 3S’ visibility regionally

Administration

  • Help develop, maintain, and manage an annual marketing budget
  • Track activities and evaluate return on investment
  • Manage databases
  • Oversee gathering, analyzing and using performance data and identify key market segments

Other

  • Serve on staff committees as requested (Including music vetting and gallery committees)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years experience in marketing/communications with a proven track record of accomplishments
  • Experience working for an arts venue and/or non-profit preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the field (music, contemporary arts, etc.) and the market
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a strategic marketing plan
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience writing for diverse audiences with variety of collateral- from annual reports and fundraising appeals to online sales content
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, manage deadlines, and balance short-term and long- term objectives
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships with local media contacts and corporations
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills and/or experience managing contracts/volunteers
  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to conduct / facilitate meetings
  • Proficiency with main social media platforms, graphic design programs, and databases

Compensation and Culture:

  • Full-time position, salary commensurate with experience.  Willing to consider the right part-time candidate for 32 hours/week. Generous health insurance and vacation benefits for full time employees.
