IAVA is the foremost veteran’s advocacy and support organization on the planet. Its mission is to connect, unite, and empower a new generation of veterans. This outstanding organization’s efforts to serve our nation’s heroes is at a critical and exciting moment in its life cycle. IAVA is seeking to add members to its exceptional Board of Directors.
Founded by Iraq veteran, Paul Rieckhoff, in 2004, IAVA is the non-partisan leader in advocacy, public awareness, and 1-on-1 case-management support. In our fifteen-year history, IAVA has connected more than 1.2 million veterans with essential resources and provided thousands of veterans with lifesaving and life-changing personalized support. Through education, advocacy, and community building, IAVA strives to shape a country which honors and supports veterans of all generations.
The Board governs critical oversight activities to build and grow the organization. We are seeking a number of Board members, coming from diverse backgrounds (veterans and civilians alike), who possess a passion for the veteran community; insights into policy, advocacy, logistics, administration, and technology; and are highly aligned with our mission. Successful candidates will be willing and able to fully participate actively in the governance process, facilitate IAVA’s resource mobilization initiatives, including securing donations/funding and opening funding prospects for the team.
This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned, highly successful and governance-experienced leader to partner with a dynamic team of leaders who shape our organization’s impact, growth opportunities, and strategic direction.
