Ultimately, so they can take action to change their lives.
Started by the Nike Foundation, we work with our partners to reach millions of girls in more than 60 countries through the technology girls use every day.
Girl Effect is seeking an outstanding and motivated individual to lead the organization’s development efforts as the Chief Development Officer.
Girl Effect is at a pivotal time as an organization—growing and building its internal fundraising capacity, delivering a new strategy and moving from a headquartered organization in London to a networked structure in which resource, talent, and expertise are evenly distributed across our geographies (Africa and Asia). The Development function, started about 5 years ago, is therefore critical to smoothly and securely resource and lead the organization during this transition to position it for present and future growth and impact.
The successful Chief Development Officer will be an optimistic, nimble, and creative problem-solver who can manage a distributed team, take ownership over the organization’s revenue targets, and act as a passionate and compelling brand ambassador and strategic communicator. Girl Effect is in an early stage of building out its funding model and brand strategy with the team. Experience in international development is a must, with mission-alignment, sector specific knowledge, and/or regionally relevant experience highly preferred.
The successful candidate will report to the CEO. This position will be virtually-based on the East Coast or potentially the West Coast (Bay area), ideally, but flexible.
Koya Leadership Partners has been engaged by Girl Effect to advise in this hire. Leading the search is Nicole Kamaleson, Managing Director and Sarah Avendaño, consultant. Completed applications will only be considered and will include:
- Cover letter – expressing your suitability, experience in fundraising, partnerships and strategic development (per the details above), interest and personal motivation for this role
- CV/Resume – your professional chronological journey highlighting your key outcomes
