The Opportunity – Director of HR

BerlinRosen has had high growth and our current systems, structures, and practices don’t fully support the current 175+ staff that is continuing to scale. The Director of Human Resources will lead the charge of moving BerlinRosen forward, implementing new systems and tools where they currently don’t exist, and improving structures and practices wherever possible.

BerlinRosen is seeking an experienced HR leader with a progressive HR mindset, excellent communication skills, and the highest ethical standards and values. This individual will be responsible for overseeing smooth payroll processing and benefits administration and will be in full ownership of confidential HR incident handling, HR asset development, employee onboarding and benefits trainings, performance evaluation processes, and employee engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to develop the HR function for a fast-growing firm. Candidates should have a deep understanding of current HR trends in compensation, benefits, and performance evaluation frameworks, and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, deadline-driven environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant experience along with the following personal competencies and characteristics:

 Experience leading and growing a Human Resources function

  • Fluency with primary HR functions (employee relations, compensation and benefits design, performance management, HR administration, and compliance); experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of benefits activities
  • Understanding of best practices and experience in building inclusive and engaged workplaces; cultural awareness and sensitivity with lens on racial and gender equity and comfort engaging and supporting diverse constituencies
  • Ability to deal with conflict effectively and to manage difficult employee relations situations confidently and calmly

Impeccable communications skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to partner effectively with all levels of the organization, including expectation setting
  • Adept at keeping all stakeholders apprised of relevant information, status of deliverables, and progress to goals
  • Strong business partnership skills, able to establish credibility and rapport with department heads and managers
  • Proven influencer; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel both executive-level management and employees

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven track record of excellent follow-through and execution in a demanding, high growth environment
  • Strong project and process management skills, demonstrated track record of delivering results
  • Ability to multi-task and balance numerous priorities in a deadline-oriented environment
