Yosemite Conservancy is a nonproﬁt dedicated to supporting Yosemite National Park. As Yosemite’s official philanthropic partner and cooperating association, the Conservancy works closely with the park to fund high-priority projects and provide enriching educational programs.
The Conservancy was founded in 1923 as the Yosemite Museum Association, the first nonprofit partner organization of the National Park Service. Yosemite Conservancy has a full-time staff of 46, a budget of $20 million, and offices in San Francisco and Yosemite, and its impact has grown exponentially over its more than 95 years of operation. The Conservancy has provided over $140 million in grants to Yosemite for more than 700 completed projects. In 2020, more than 60,000 donors contributed to the Conservancy, and, as a result, the organization has exciting goals for 2021: To provide $11.5 million in total support to Yosemite, fund 44 new grants to the NPS, and reach at least 400,000 people through Conservancy-run programs and services.
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO) will strategically translate the beauty, biodiversity, and ecological and cultural importance of Yosemite National Park to audiences across the world.
