American Jewish World Service

New York, NY   |   March 10, 2021

Inspired by the Jewish commitment to justice, American Jewish World Service (AJWS) works to build a more equitable world by supporting community-driven change in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean and by advocating in the United States for foreign policies that prioritize human rights and democratic norms.

AJWS has a bold vision and ambition to become a truly progressive, 21st Century workplace that transforms itself and its work through innovative people and cultural practices that reflect its core values, foster inclusivity and equity, and unlock the potential each and every team member has to help advance our mission and create change in communities around the world.

The organization’s first-ever Vice President, People and Culture (VP) will play a key role in advancing this vision by helping to build and implement new organizational strategies and refining current systems and processes related to people and culture that enhance inclusion, engagement, transparency, and accountability.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team reporting to the Executive Vice President, the VP will lead a team of five, including the Human Resources, Payroll, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion functions of the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a new position within a collegial, passionate team and high-impact organization.
