Koya Leadership Partners is delighted to announce the placement of Tracy Arwari as the Senior Associate Dean of Students for Academic and Personal Success for Pomona College.
Arwari will play a key role in developing Pomona’s Class Dean program as a foundation for holistic academic support for students, hire and supervise the new Director of Accessibility Services, and work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to foster academic success.
Arwari came to Pomona from The George Washington University, where she was Director of Student Support and Family Engagement since 2013. In that role, she addressed complex needs by establishing a case management campus tool; collaborating across academic schools to create strategic retention planning for identified students and populations of concern; serving as an on-call resource for the after-hours response team and university police; chairing the University Committee on Withdrawals; and providing oversight for research and assessment related to orientation and other student affairs efforts.
Her career also includes teaching experiences in educational leadership and Hispanic studies. Arwari is fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese. She holds a B.A. in Latin American studies and Spanish languages from The College of William and Mary in Virginia, an M.A. from Georgetown University. Arwari has completed doctoral work in both higher education administration at The George Washington University and Spanish at the University of Arizona.
