Koya Vice President, Beth Schaefer and her team partnered with the University of Maryland on the recruitment of Kimberly Watson as its new Assistant Vice President for Procurement and Strategic Sourcing.
Watson has over 20 years of procurement experience at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.
Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Watson was the Director of University Services at Michigan State University where she oversaw purchasing, accounts payable, logistics, university stores, mail services, and capital asset management. She led initiatives at MSU that resulted in their organization becoming a leader in service and use of technology. Watson and her staff increased cost savings, implemented an e-Procurement/e-Invoicing system, and initiated a warehouse modernization project.
Watson currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Big Ten Academic Alliance Purchasing Consortium.
