Koya Leadership Partners is delighted to have placed Dr. Alaa Murabit as CEO of IMPACT2030.
IMPACT2030 has a unique mission to activate human capital investments globally through direct employee volunteer programs to advance the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Before joining IMPACT2030, Alaa served as a Co-Founder at The Emerging Leader Task Force, a talent accelerator and management agency dedicated to scale Next-Gen local leaders from minority and marginalized communities around the world to help drive social change. She also serves as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Phase Minus 1, a consulting firm that provides thought leadership in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, sustainable development, national security, and defense technology.
Alaa is a Canadian Meritorious Service Cross recipient, and one of 17 Global Sustainable Development Goal Advocates appointed by the UN Secretary-General. She was named a UN High-Level Commissioner on Health Employment & Economic Growth. She serves as an advisor to several international security boards, think tanks and organizations, including The UN Security Council Resolution 1325, the Women Global Advisory Board, and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Among other awards, Alaa is the youngest recipient of the Marisa Bellisario International Humanitarian Award by the Italian Government and was the 2018 recipient of the Nelson Mandela International Changemaker Award, and Harvard Law named her the youngest 2017 Woman Inspiring Change.
Alaa completed her medical degree at the University of Zawia and went on to complete her Masters in International Strategy and Diplomacy with Distinction at the London School of Economics.
