Koya’s partnership with Suffolk University resulted in the appointment of Boris Lazic as Chief Human Resources Officer. Suffolk University is a private research university with a long history in Boston, Massachusetts. With 7,560 students, it is the eighth largest university in metropolitan Boston. It is categorized as a Doctoral Research University by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
In this role, Lazic leads the Human Resources office and serves as a member of the Finance and Administration Division leadership team. Lazic will provide comprehensive operational and strategic leadership supporting ambitious administrative and academic goals as outlined in the university’s new strategic plan, Suffolk 2025.
Previously, Lazic was the Chief Human Resources Officer at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MDOT), serving as the chief talent and culture officer accountable for aligning activities to support the Agency’s priorities, strategies, and ambitions. There, he led the transformation of the HR department to Centers of Expertise model, realizing $1.2M in annualized cost savings.
Prior to MDOT, Lazic spent nearly a decade as the Director of Human Resources for the Boston University Medical Campus, where he implemented HR Center of Excellence delivery model, developed comprehensive strategic recruiting, retention, and employee engagement plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals and increase overall engagement.
Lazic served as the Assistant Director of Riverside Career Services from 2003 -2005, and Senior Employment Consultant for Easter Seals in 2002.
Lazic holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. He earned an MS in Human Resources from Emmanuel College.
