Koya partnered with Summit Public Schools on its Superintendent search. Michelle Bonoan and her team led a comprehensive search that resulted in the placement of Anson Jackson.

Anson Jackson has passionately served students and families in education for over 14 years as a teacher and leader. From 2015 to 2018 he was a Managing Director at Uplift Education in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where he directly managed and supported 11 middle school principals serving over 5,000 students. He set the vision for leadership development and training for school leaders and supported leaders in creating high-performing middle schools to provide all students with a world-class, rigorous and holistic educational experience.

Prior to the Managing Director role, he led Uplift Summit International Preparatory for three years, and Uplift Mighty Preparatory for one year. The Texas Education Agency recognized Summit as a Title 1 Reward school, one of eleven schools in the state that achieved high academic results for all student groups. In 2014, the George Bush Institute recognized Uplift Mighty as a Middle School Matters Model School. He also managed Summit Middle School through the International Baccalaureate MYP authorization process in 2013.

Before entering leadership, Anson worked to close the achievement gap as a math teacher and interventionist. From 2006 to 2011 he worked at KIPP TRUTH Academy and a traditional public school district in the Dallas area. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in mathematics in 2004, he joined Teach for America as a math teacher in the Rio Grande Valley region. He earned his M.Ed. in educational leadership and policy in 2011 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

Jackson is also a Pahara Nextgen 2016 fellow. He is a firm believer that every child deserves to receive an excellent and balanced educational experience that will provide them with the skills, mindsets and self-identity necessary to positively impact the world.
