Jade Elias is the Director of Programs at the Red Hook Initiative, where she heads education and employment programs for youth between the ages of 11 and 24. With more than 8 years of youth development experience, she is committed to supporting young people to achieve their goals and lead change within their communities. Prior to her work at RHI, as an Education Pioneers Fellow, Jade led efforts at the Office of Family and Student Engagement for Boston Public Schools to develop a program model to build the capacity of parents and BPS to engage in partnerships that promote successful student outcomes. At Philips Brooks House Association at Harvard College, she developed the program model for the youth leadership Leaders! program. Jade’s formal youth development work started with City Year and AmeriCorps, leading service-learning programs at a Harlem middle school. Since then she has worked with StreetSquash as an Academic Director for middle school students as well as with Learning Leaders, implementing family engagement programs in public schools in the Bronx. Jade holds a Bachelor’s degree from Baruch College and a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
