Gayla Brockman began her tenure as President and CEO of the Michael Reese Health Trust in January 2016.
Michael Reese Health Trust was established when the not-for-profit Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center was sold to a for-profit corporation. Carrying on the Michael Reese tradition, The organization has worked since 1995 to improve the health of the area’s poor, children and youth, people with disabilities, the elderly, immigrants and refugees, the uninsured, and others not adequately served by existing health care delivery systems.
Gayla Brockman comes to MRHT from her position as Executive Director of the Menorah Legacy Foundation in Kansas City, MIssouri where she served for 12 years. The Menorah Legacy Foundation is a health care foundation and program incubator focusing on healthy eating, active living, health care access and services, and the health and human service needs of the Jewish community. Prior to leading Menorah, she served in several senior leadership positions at the Tufts Health Plan in Massachusetts.
Gayla has an M.S. in Health Care Administration from Simmons College in Boston, and a B.A. in English and Marketing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
