Koya partnered with Hamilton College on its Controller search. Founded over 200 years ago, Hamilton College is focused on teaching students to think independently and communicate clearly with a co-curricular program that provides internships and other experiential learning and leadership opportunities.
Our work with Hamilton resulted in the placement of Carol Gabel.
Carol Gable has worked in higher education, both for private and public institutions, for approximately 30 years. She most recently served as associate vice president for Finance at St. Lawrence University for eight years and as their controller for twelve years before that. Her areas of responsibilities included audit and accounting, tax, payroll, student financial services, debit, investments and she lead their implementation of the Colleague Finance system. Prior to joining St. Lawrence University, Carol was the assistant controller for Middlebury College in Vermont for three years. Before that she worked at the University of Montana in various positions of increasing responsibility in accounting and finance.
Carol is very active in community and volunteer work and has served as treasurer for Planned Parenthood of North Country, NY, as treasurer and trustee for the Canton, NY Unitarian Universalist Church, as chair of the village of Canton’s Sustainability committee, and on the audit committee for the Unitarian Universalist Association headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
Carol is a certified public accountant in the state of Maryland as she received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland and began her career in finance and accounting working for real estate syndication and management firms in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
