Koya Leadership Partners is proud to have partnered with Lyric Opera of Chicago on the successful recruitment and appointment of Elizabeth Hurley, a nationally recognized fundraising professional as its new Chief Development Officer.
Lyric Opera of Chicago exists to express and promote the life-changing, transformational, revelatory power of great opera and provide a broad, deep, and relevant cultural service to Chicago and the nation, and to advance the development of the art form.
Hurley brings more than 30 years of experience in arts administration with a deep working knowledge of fundraising strategy and execution. She joins Lyric from world renowned Juilliard School, where she currently serves as the Vice President for Development and Public Affairs, overseeing a 40-person team responsible for all philanthropic, marketing, performance, retail, and communications activity.
During her tenure at Juilliard, she completed a total reorganization of the development and public affairs staff and strategy, and created new development operations functions focusing on data analysis, research, and reporting.
Hurley has also held leadership roles at some of Chicago’s most significant cultural institutions, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Grant Park Music Festival, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Hurley begins her tenure at Lyric on March 1, 2018.
