Katie Bouton – Inspiring the Next Generation of Female Leaders

In honor of Thanksgiving and Giving Tuesday, we are honored to share our teams’ Passion Project stories of Gratitude through Service. Happy #ThankfulNovember

Name of your Passion Project:

IGNITE: building a movement of young women who are ready and eager to become the next generation of political leaders.

Why IGNITE?

I support IGNITE because I believe that every girl should see herself reflected in the faces of the leaders around her. Every young woman should know that every door is open to her, and that she can grow up to become a CEO, a state representative, or even President of the United States.

IGNITE is building a movement of young women who are ready and eager to become the next generation of political leaders. Via high school curriculumcollege chaptersannual conferences, and elected women network, IGNITE teaches young women how to think critically about policy, become civically engaged, and understand where the levers of power to make change actually reside.

Why this Matters:

Without significant intervention, the United States won’t reach gender parity in politics for at least another century. I joined the IGNITE board and designated my Passion Project to IGNITE because I am interested in amplifying women’s voices and points of view.

Koya is a strong supporter of IGNITE via donations as well as pro bono services. Most recently, Koya sponsored the Public Service Announcement “We All Belong Here.” A short inspirational video that inspires young girls to seek political office.
